Free Laptop Encryption for Your School

If you have purchased the online back-up service with Babcock 4S this year, as part of our drive to improve our services, we have the pleasure in offering you a free 10GB data backup and encryption tool, which can be installed on a laptop of your choice within your school.

As teachers are relying heavily on ICT to aid the teaching and running of schools, there is an increased need for back-up and security of sensitive data away from the school environment

This software meets the Information Commissioners Office recommendations for the security of personal data and complies with the legal requirement of the Data Protection Act 1998 to protect and secure personal data

The encryption tool will protect selected data on your laptop, so that if your machine is stolen, sensitive documents cannot be viewed.  As long as an internet connection is available, whether you are in or out of the office, the information held on your laptop will be regularly backed up to a central off site data storage centre.  If your laptop malfunctions or is stolen, the selected backed up data stored on your laptop can be retrieved from the off site data storage centre to a new machine.  If your machine is stolen, with your authorisation we can set the encryption software to automatically delete the data from your stolen laptop the next time it connects to the internet.
