The dividend, the highest paid since the joint venture between Babcock and Surrey County Council was created in 2004, results from the success of the Babcock 4S joint venture.
Says Alex Khan, Managing Director, Education and Training, Babcock: “This dividend represents more than a financial transaction, it reflects the dedication and commitment of this partnership which has delivered consistently high standards of education and attainment at significantly reduced cost.”
This payment is part of a continual improvement programme which has delivered £11.3 million in savings for SCC over the life of the contract.
Babcock 4S is the largest integrated school improvement and support services provider in the country. It works with over 500 education establishments and 50 local authorities including the London Borough of Waltham Forest, the London Borough of Lewisham, the London Borough of Greenwich and the Department for Education, providing a full range of support services that raise educational standards and reduce costs.
