Pupils and schools across Waltham Forest had cause to celebrate this week after achieving the borough’s best ever GCSE results.
Provisional figures show the number of Waltham Forest pupils gaining
five or more A* - C grades was 74.7% - up 8 per cent from last year.
While the number of pupils achieving the gold standard 5 or more A* - C
grades including Maths and English rose by 2.6 per cent on last year to
53.49%.
Once again the results have exceeded the target set by the Borough with the Department for Education.
Babcock 4S has been delivering the School Improvement Service on behalf
of Waltham Forest Council since 2008 and has worked in partnership with
many schools and the local authority in their drive to raise
standards.
Penny Plato, Head of Education at Babcock 4S said,
“We are delighted to once again be reporting a record year for GCSE results in Waltham Forest.
I would like to congratulate Waltham Forest pupils on their fantastic
achievements, which is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of
both students and their teachers.”
