A rigorous review of SEN practice and provision by one of our highly-trained consultants. All Healthchecks are personalised to the school requirements and include feedback and a written report with strengths and areas for development.

Key features of the service

The SEND Healthcheck will support accurate school selfevaluation and develop leadership capacity in SEN and Inclusion within your school. It will provide evidence to support an Ofsted inspection and identify priorities for improving outcomes for pupils with SEN.

Level 1

  • Review of whole-school provision including impact of class support and interventions with 6 hours on site
  • Support for accurate school self-evaluation
  • Interviews with an agreed range of staff and pupils
  • Learning walks and book scrutiny – carried out independently or in partnership with SLT
  • Data analysis
  • Advice in ensuring access to learning impacts on pupil outcomes
  • Written report with clearly defined strengths and areas for development

Level 2

All of the Level 1 service PLUS

  • Support in developing an action plan
  • A return half day visit to review progress and impact
