The professionally qualified School Meals Team Contract Management Team represented by the Area Catering Officer:-
- Manage the School Meals Contract on behalf of schools, saving time, effort and trouble
- Resolve problems with the contractor when they occur
- Offer prompt, attentive advice and help on all matters relating to the management of the School Meals Contract
Assist Schools by:-
- Monitoring the work of the contractor to ensure the specification is met.
- Undertaking correspondence with the contractor.
- Providing advice and procedures for special diets.
- Advising on the Milk in Schools and Welfare Milk Schemes
- Helping you to interpret the contract.
- Advising you on legal and Health and Safety matters.
- Responding to EHO Reports
- Advising you on work methods, materials and equipment
- Providing liaison for refurbishments / improvements to kitchens
- Marketing and the promotion of the Healthy Eating Policy
And in the event that things go wrong:-
- Resolve problems, difficulties or disputes
- Represent schools' interests at meetings with the contractor
