Headteacher’s H&S Briefing
Surrey County Council encourages all new Headteachers to attend a Headteacher’s H&S briefing session. The intention is to ensure that all Headteachers are kept up to date with current H&S expectations and standards. Details of sessions appear periodically via the SCC Bulletin, but schools can access the Babcock 4S CPD Online at any time for course dates and booking etc.
School H&S Coordinator & Risk Assessment
Surrey County Council (via the model H&S Policy provided to schools) advises Headteachers to nominate a manager within the school to carry out functions on their behalf as an H&S Coordinator. The suggested functions of the H&S Coordinator’s role are explained in the SCC Model H&S Policy.
Babcock 4S provides a bespoke training course for persons nominated to this role. This is provided at no additional cost to schools subscribing to the H&S SLA. Full details of forthcoming courses, bookings and location etc are available via Babcock 4S CPD Online.
